These Montessori Checkerboards, made of cotton, are a space and money-saving alternative to the wooden versions. The cloth can be rolled or folded easily and readily washed if needed.

This checkerboard mat teaches long multiplication and category multiplication (and explains why we add a zero when doing long multiplication!!!)

Each mat is handmade to match AMI elementary materials as given in training (aka this will not necessarily match Neinhuis materials, but will coordinate with Montessori album pages available here and elsewhere). The horizontal axis goes to one-hundred-millions.

Each mat is approximately 18x32 inches; please remember that each mat is handmade and dimensions can vary slightly. NOTE: Beads and number squares NOT included (purchase separately or create them at home - the beads could be from any set of Montessori beads - we recommend purchasing a set that include the 10-bars so that you can use it for any of the math materials)
