Wood liturgical calendar of the liturgical year to help learn about and track the church year.
Deep Sunday prisms aid in placement and are easy for smaller hands to manipulate.
Montessori faith formation includes atrium and other options, at churches, in schools or at home.
Options:
Standard Liturgical Calendar
Easter, Pentecost and Christmas are full arrows that "sink" into the center circle to ensure precise placement. These allow for 9 Sunday prisms between Christmas Day and the start of Lent. 6 prisms for Lent, then Easter, for a total of 15 Sunday prisms between Christmas Day and Easter Sunday.
Season names: Advent, Christmas, Ordinary Time, Lent, Easter, Ordinary Time
Flip the center-piece over to change the calendar between counter-clockwise and clockwise.
Holy Spirit: the dove and flame are both provided for you to select which to use. The control chart has both symbols on it.
Finding the Date of Easter Liturgical Calendar
Built as described above, except that Christmas ends before sinking into the center circle so you can easily shift the space between Christmas and Easter, move the Sunday pieces of Ordinary Time to fill in the space. In this way the wood arrows and center circle serve double duty. It also includes discs for the seasons and the full moons.
Finding the Date of Easter pieces only flow counter-clockwise to follow the Montessori (and others') perspective that "God's time is not our time". Want clockwise-only anyway? Please request in checkout comments.
Standard Calendar and Finding the Date of Easter portions
The center circle, arrows, and season arcs are duplicated: one set for standard and the second set for finding the date of Easter. Also includes season and moon circles.
Finding the Date of Easter pieces only flow counter-clockwise to follow the Montessori (and others') perspective that "God's time is not our time". Want clockwise-only anyway? Please request in checkout comments.
Godly Play / Young Children & Worship Liturgical Calendar
Easter and Pentecost are full size arrows but Christmas ends before sinking into the center circle so you can easily shift the space between Christmas and Easter, move the Sunday pieces of Ordinary Time to fill in the space, adjusting the liturgical calendar year as you go.
Children of Light Liturgical Calendar
Introduced in The Child in the Church, this version is 2 circles to study the solar calendar versus the liturgical calendar. 3rd set adds on Sunday prisms with labels for all Sundays and major feast days.
Extraordinary Form Liturgical Calendar
Cut (and painted if selected) to follow the Tridentine Calendar.
